Through The Flame

I created this track for a project in my Song Writing and Arrangement class. I chose to write a song about a wizard casting a dragon and calling it to war, because, I didn't want to follow the typical route of writing about something personal or worldly, so I came up with a fictional story. Just take note, I am not a singer but I was required to have vocals on my final and that created a challenge for me. This is the first song I've ever sung, but I'm sure you'll get the concept. I played both guitars and the bass tracks, and programmed the drums myself (no pre-recorded loops). This is the first Metal song I've wrote completely through and recorded. It is also the longest song I've wrote so far at 5:17.

VERSE 1
Spread your wings the time is here,
heed your calling st. george is near.
I cast you out of the fire,
beyond the mountains and through the mire.

With scales of fury and a pure soul,
fight with me towards a single goal.
I craft your armor with magic and might,
from the gods with everlasting light.

The time has come, to confront your fear,
stand with me, my message is clear.
To the front lines we will stand,
to defend our honor and our land.

Through the flame, I rise to power,
this world i claim with a dragons strength
From ashes, from dust,

Death to all that are riddled black,
for they do not see their wicked path.
Never has my victory been in vain,
ridding the fields of man, through the flame.

I take my staff and burn my brand,
from the sky we make our stand.
bestow the fear in their eyes,
see them running for their lives.

Take my hand with my sword,
we will conquer this dark world.
Every foe, that will fall,
my legend rises and stands tall.
